Melanin Goddess’ Khoudia Diop turned heads on the Emmy red carpet on Sunday, in a stunning gold gown.
Diop was there on behalf of L’Oreal Makeup and has scored major campaigns in the last few months – including Make Up For Ever.
Not a bad for a girl who use to be bullied for her dark skin tone. “People have made comments, calling me names like ‘midnight’ or ‘mother of stars,’” she told R29.
“At first I confronted the bullies, but eventually I learned to tune out the negativity and just love myself more. I want it to openly accept more women of color into its rank, and give them as much shine as other women.”
